SPP 2205: DZG Satellite Event: 6th Meeting of the ANN “Evolution of the Arthropod Brain – From Development to Structure”, Bonn (Sep 12-13, 2022)

New methods from morphology and developmental genetics, among others, allow deeper insights into the evolution of the arthropod brain and support comparative behavioral studies. In the DZG, a lot of expertise is available in different groups, but the exchange could be stronger. We therefore want to bring together scientists working on the evolution of the arthropod brain from different perspectives. The focus will be on interdisciplinary exchange across subject groups – from developmental genetics to structure. We hope that the different perspectives and methods of, for example, morphology, developmental biology and genetics will cross-fertilize and lead to the reformulation of questions and the expansion of the methodological repertoire.
